How The Song "Dummies" Came About ....

I wanted to do a joint with my nigga Yung Walt. We always talking bout “Dummies” (Baltimore slang for a very naive female), so I figured it would be an easy topic for us to go in on. I still didn’t have a beat for the joint yet tho, only a melody in my head. About 2 months later, I was listening through my beat folder, and came across a joint I had sitting for a while, I let the beat play and I heard low melody in the back that triggered my subconcious to begin singing the hook I had came up with a couple months back for the “Dummies”, and it fit perfect. A couple weeks later Walt & I were chilling in the studio, and I played the beat for him and gave him the concept, he loved the idea, wrote and recorded his verse in the next few mins. I wrote a few bars and got stuck, I was having a writers block spell, so I saved the song, and forgot about it for a few months. One day Backland and I were in the studio, and one of us stumbled on the unfinished song, Backland thought the shit was hard so he asked if I had a 3rd verse, I told him go ahead and get on the joint. We both wrote our verses, and recorded it that night, and once it was done, that shit was jamming. Backland came up with the idea to model the CD Cover after the popular book series “Dummies” example: “Lawn Care For Dummies” etc. I added Kat Stacks & Karrine Stephans to really stress the point. As of now we are gearing up a full promotional campaign push for “Dummies” in the streets, but at the end of the day it will be the fans who decide how far the song goes, so Tell A Friend, Share on Twitter & Facebook.
